Saya Sakakibara

Saya Sakakibara’s journey to the top of the BMX racing world is a testament to her unwavering determination and resilience.

Starting her career at just four years old, Saya quickly rose through the ranks, winning national and state titles, before winning gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

However, her path to success has not been without its challenges, including a concussion in 2017 that forced her to take an extended break from the sport.

Saya now splits her time between Australia and Europe as she represents Australia on the World Championship Circuit, having debuted at Olympic Level for Australia at Tokyo 2020.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Saya won a Gold Medal and captivated the world with her story of resilience and perseverance, winning 7 from 7 of her races on the World’s biggest stage, when it mattered most.
